Bits

Bits that are legal for the discipline.

Generally Snaffles, Kimberwicks, Pelhams etc

**We realize that there is a grey area for this, so please ask

Snaffle bits that are ‘O’ ring, egg butt or ‘D’ ring with out leverage and ridden two handed, must be used with split reins
**Horses that are five years and younger

Curb strap for a snaffle (should be placed below the reins)

Curb bits(has shanks to which the reins attach) with a solid or broken mouth are also acceptable

**Curb bits must have a curb strap and use split reins

Slip, gag and donut bits are NOT permitted in flat classes

Bridle

No bit less bridles or hackamores in hunters or flat classes

No flashes, drop nose bands, figure 8’s etc in hunters or flat classes

*All Riders must enter the arena with a number on either the riders back, or on both sides of their saddle pad, even if riding Hors Concours

*Horses must be clean and neatly groomed for the specificdisciplineentered.

The rider must make the best effort to remove manure/urine/grass stains, tangled manes or tails, clean markings etc

*All tack must be clean and in safe/usable condition
Of course safety is of the utmost importance. Air vests and other protective vests for the rider will also be permitted.
